4th of July weekend

I am looking forward to the 4th of July weekend. Luckily this year it falls on a Friday so that makes for a long weekend!!!! My problem is that I don't know what to do. Usually my children and I go out town a short road trip. However, we all know how high the gas pices will be for the weekend. I was wondering if anyone had any sugggestions on something we could do locally besides Stone Mountain Park or Six Flags. The childen I am trying to entertain are 10 and 12 year old boys.

If Helen,GA is not too far for you then I would say take them there. It's a nice little town. I like tubing down the chattahoochee.

I have never been tubing down a real river. I have done it at a water park. It sounds like fun but also scary at the same time. I have heard of Helen before. I am going to check some things out. Thanks for the idea.

How about the Aquarium? I really want to go see it, lol, and am considering taking my kids in a few weeks.

If you want to be inside where it is nice and cool how about Dave n Busters? I think that is a big hit for pre-teens,especially boys that like video games and such!

Thanks you all have some good ideas, I think I like Dave N Busters the best. I can sit back and let them do their thing and I can have me a drink and and relax my nerves.

Depending on where you live, there is also Startime: Highway 92/ and Alpharetta Highway. That's where my husband and I spent Friday nights with his boys. [Thankfully, that part of my life is over.]

If you live in a house, camp in the backyard. It's a long night, but they will love it!!!
