Ticks on a plane: Denver to Des Moines flight delayed
During a United Airlines flight Tuesday from Washington, D.C. to Denver, a passenger sitting in economy alerted a flight attendant to a tick she discovered in the cabin. Upon landing in Denver, "the airline decided it couldn't fly the plane until it was cleaned of ticks, so passengers had to wait while another plane was flown from Colorado Springs," The Associated Press writes. "The flight was further delayed because of thunderstorms in the Denver area."
The flight to Des Moines was delayed nearly 6 hours, according to AP. The Denver Post quotes United spokeswoman Robin Urbanski as saying that the airline "immediately cleaned the cabin, replaced the seat cushions and as a precautionary measure decided to use another aircraft to fly from Denver to Des Moines."
Urbanski told AP that "between one and three ticks were discovered." She added that "the airline hasn't figured out how the ticks got on the plane or what type of ticks were found."
No ticks were found on passengers.

I'd be really ticked off if that happened to me.
Eww. That is so crazy!! Ticks 20 something thousand feet in the air! Who would have thunk it?? That is very professional of the airline though. Yes it may have been a hassle for the passengers, but it's always better to be safe than sorry. That is seriously weird though how the little varmits got onto the plane. Maybe from a carry-on pet or a person who did not notice they had ticks on them. I mean one tick...okay that is an accident. But 3 or 4??? EWW! That's all I have to say about that!
