Dog Sitting

I have been dog and house sitting for the past week and I am going to have to say it has been quite interesting. The people I am doing this for has a huge Bernese Mountain dog, Manny, and a 12 year old basset hound, Sophie. It is quite an odd mix. Manny has NO training so he is out of control. He doesn't even know how to stop when you say stop. It's terrible. He has jumped on my car numerous times as I have been coming down the driveway, spread the trash out of the trash can all over the yard and chewed up my flip flops. I have never been so mad with a dog in my life. The trash I can handle but my shoes and my car....I don't think so! I don't understand how you can own any animal and not teach it some form of manners. The whole situation frustrates me. Sophie on the other hand is a doll. She is great but that could be because she is 12 and can't really get around. She just lays on her pillows and minds her own business. Don't get me wrong, Manny is sooo sweet but sometimes you just want to put him in the bedroom and not let him out. Both of them are just the cutest things and I'm so glad I'm getting to dog sit them.

Oh i can completely understand how you feel. We had a English Bulldog that we recently just sold and i loved that dog so much but he was to much to care for and so stubborn. We put him in dog training classes and it did NO good. So glad though that you get to dog sit for them and they are keeping you company to.

I dog sat one time and the dog got into my neice's Valentines candy and ate it all. I sat the whole night on the phone with an emergency vet and giving the dog peroxide to make it vomit.I will not dog sit again!!
