As the semester comes to an end

I was sitting here thinking about the time i decided to go back to college. It would be interesting to see what every ones thoughts have been this semester. I took English 1101 back in 1991 and because of how long it has been since i have been out of school i had to retake several classes over again. I decided to take English 1101 this semester because i remembered it not being to bad of a class. Well when i took it way back then English 1101 was all grammar and 1 writing essay to get us ready for English 1102. Well when i logged onto the computer and found out this class was writing essays i was like oh my i am in for a ride. First thoughts were how the heck am i going to be able to sit and write papers with 4 kids and a husband that goes to school 3 nights a week and leaves to go to work at 4 in the morning. I wanted to drop out of this class but my husband talked me into staying and doing the best i can no matter what the outcome. I am glad i stuck through it because i have learned so much going back and rereading what Ms. Chapman has found wrong with my papers. This class has also helped me learn the newer English rules to better help my son that is severe dyslexic. Writing papers has always been a weakness of mine and being i have no time to sit and even read books makes it harder. I think my worse essay to write on is this final essay. I have been so stressed out this week because of our youngest son just getting out of the hospital and then all my classes coming to an end and getting everything done with them. What made it even worse was signing onto the computer to find out all the down time for the scheduled maintenance's that will be going on. Talk about cramming. I wish everyone the best of luck and again i have enjoyed this class and Ms. Chapman as an instructor.

I have been out of school for 11 years. I always had a hard time with grammar, still do, but I really have enjoyed the writing. I am atually taking 102 in the fall, so I am looking forward to that. I have learned a lot!!! Although my grammar is horrible, it has improved so much. I think the differnce, for me, is I actaully want to learn it. I took this class when I was 18. I didn't care about writing essays. Now I want to do it. I guess some things come with age.

That is insane that you are doing what you are doing with 4 kids running around!! I just have a puppy and I feel overwhelmed! I can not imagine what it is like to go head first back into school after what 17 years you said?!? I graduated high school in 2006 and it took me a few weeks to get back into the swing of things. So I am giving a HUGE pat on the back to you for keeping up with all of this!! This class really has taught me a lot and I do feel like I am ready to or at east more prepared for the rest of college. EEkk! Happy trails to everyone!!
